Kyle Coughlin has been a featured soloist with the Loyola DaCamera, Columbia Orchestra, Columbia Concert Band, and several school ensembles in Howard County, Maryland. His honors include an Individual Artist Award in Solo Classical Performance from the Maryland State Arts Council, first prize in the Baltimore Music Club competition, and finalist in the Buffet North American Clarinet Competition. He has been a featured soloist at ClarinetFest, the annual conference of the International Clarinet Association.
As a freelance musician, Coughlin has worked with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Maryland Philharmonic, the National Gallery Orchestra, Concert Artists of Baltimore, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and orchestras at the Kennedy Center, National Theatre, Wolf Trap, and the Hippodrome in Baltimore. He has also performed with Seth MacFarlane, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Manhattan Transfer, the Four Freshman, Ray Charles, Johnny Mathis, Christine Baranski, Carol Channing, Tommy Tune, Marie Osmond, Tony Curtis, the Moody Blues, Roger Daltrey, and many others. He is a member of the band Junkyard Saints, and frequently plays with other groups in the Baltimore-Washington area, too.
